The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN is an agency of the Federal Ministry of Education. It was established by the TRCN Act 31 of 1993. The major mandates are the regulation and control of the Teaching Profession at all levels of the Nigerian Education system, both in the public and private sectors.

TRCN has temporarily suspended the Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) as basis of registration of teachers with the Council.

TRCN commences online Registration and Annual Renewal services in preparation for the Annual Licensing Scheme for accredited, professional teachers. This system is provided for anyone whom is currently or wishes to be duely registered with TRCN. This registration is necessary in order to practice as a recognized, professional teacher within Nigeria or as a professional Nigerian Teacher employed abroad. It allows for the management of your personal information and any required payments to TRCN.
